Samurai Tools have piston and cylinder mechanism wherein piston acts as a damper and fluid-filled cylinder absorbs the vibration. Thus, it offers stability, accuracy, and rigidity to the process. There are 2 variants of Samurai tools – Stationery Samurai Tools and Rotary Samurai Tools.

Samurai Anti-vibration tools are recommended for boring above L/D 4 as there are greater chances of vibration and chatter marks if one continues to use regular alloy steel machining bar.
The Samurai Mechanism
Sigma Samurai tools have piston and cylinder mechanism with the cylinder filled with a special fluid. The piston acts as a damper, which dampens the vibration generated while machining the component and the special fluid absorbs the vibration, thus providing steady machining, great rigidity and high stability at the complex and extreme conditions.
To achieve greater stability and rigidity, Sigma has used high tensile steel to develop Samurai Anti-vibration tool. whereas the piston and cylinder mechanism gives dynamic stability. Samurai tooling’s perform successfully where conventional anti-vibration boring tools find it challenging.
